Welcome. I’m Chelsea.
Chelsea Kazmier (ShE/her), LCSW
therapist and FOunder of surfside counseling
Challenge inevitably finds its way into our lives. You’re not alone, no matter what you may be going through. As humans, we have the capacity for growth, resilience, and healing. I hold supportive and accepting space in which to feel connected and understood.
Our work together will be full of empathy, trust, and compassion. I will help you learn to develop healthier thought patterns and deeper connection to yourself and others. You can gain clarity about what you want in life and develop self-awareness and self-compassion. You can let go of shame, guilt, and negative self-talk, and learn to draw on your own strength and wisdom to ultimately live a more joyful, authentic, and wholehearted life. I’d be honored to support you in your healing and growth.
I offer a safe space: trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming and celebratory, anti-racist, sex-positive, kink-friendly, and polyamory-friendly.
My approach is holistic, integrative, and strengths-based, and is influenced by Internal Family Systems, Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a feminist lens. My focus areas include:
LGBTQ+
college students
relationships and attachment
trauma
self-worth
anxiety
panic
sexual challenges
I hold a BSW (with a minor in Women’s Studies) and an MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida (license #16201). In addition to private practice, I have worked in various community agencies providing services related to mental health, domestic violence, homelessness, sexual assault, and substance abuse. I regularly participate in continuing education to stay knowledgable and current in my approaches to therapy.
